It’s given me hope of getting where I want to be without surgery…
…’the private consultant I saw, decided he wanted to see the results of an MRI scan before he operated. His analysis of the scan was that he would have a 60% chance of improving my knee if he operated.
‘He recommended an exercise I’d not tried before, and that I go away, try it and then decide whether to proceed with the operation. Having done this and since put the knee to some reasonable use I am pleased to say it has improved. It still feels vulnerable, but as it’s still improving I have decided to not have an operation at this stage. If I regress I can still contact [the consultant], and I am also still on the NHS waiting list.
‘The scan and the excellent advice from the consultant have helped me so much in my understanding of my problem, and given me hope of getting where I want to be without surgery. I am therefore exceptionally grateful to you and all those involved in the benevolent fund for your advice and support.’
